Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage an
NSF-funded translational research project. The project integrates expertise
from mechanical design, manufacturing, user research, and civil engineering to
develop a robotic system for construction and disaster response.
Essential Functions:
-Oversee and coordinate activities across teams at three universities, as well as with technical contractors, consultants, and vendors.
-Develop and maintain project timelines, deliverables, and budgets in accordance with NSF requirements, as well as coordinating reporting, compliance, and administrative tasks required by NSF.
-Serve as the primary liaison between university researchers, industry partners, and funding agencies.
-Assist in planning for transitioning the project into a self-sustaining entity, including identifying commercialization opportunities and funding strategies.-Participate in development of the robotic systems.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related field.
-Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
-Ability to contribute to technical development of a robotic system.
-3+ years of experience in project management.
-Strong organizational and leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
-Familiarity with NSF grant administration and reporting.
-Experience in commercialization, startups, and industry partnerships.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $63,129.05-$107,893.56 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
