Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator IV candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring systems are fully operating at high availability, rapidly troubleshooting and resolving systems issues, and handling tickets and calls from the customer. The position is at a customer site and frequent customer interaction is required. The candidate will work closely with government Customers, contractor Project Lead, Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Application Vendor, and Application End Users.

The candidate will perform daily system monitoring and monthly Patching. The candidate will troubleshoot network and application performance issues and recommend appropriate action. The candidate, when tasked, will rapidly troubleshoot issues, resolving systems issues via a ticketing tracking system. The candidate will be responsible for deploying software patches monthly at the customer's location during off-hours. The candidate must understand system hardening and security through the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Patching.

The candidate will be responsible for creating or revising existing documentation. The candidate must be able to communicate complex system configurations simply and clearly in documentation. The candidate will create/revise, but not limited to, the documentation as follows: daily standard operating procedures (SOP), System Administration Guide (SAG), System Install Procedures (SIP), System User Manual (SUM), and/or Interface Control Document (ICD).

Responsibilities include, and resume must demonstrate experience with the following functions:

    Perform regular server updates, patch management, and software installations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
  • Monitor server performance, troubleshoot server-related issues, and optimize server resources.
  • Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to protect the Windows environment.
  • Monitor security logs, conduct regular security audits, and respond to security incidents.
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Test and document disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage virtualized environments using technologies like Hyper-V, VMware AWS and Azure.
  • Provision and manage virtual machines and or cloud resources(U) .
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install COTS software.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph or be able to pass a poly.
  • Bachelor's degree in an area applicable to the position with 8+ years relevant experience. Will consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must hold active Security+, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent certifications (DoD 8570 IAM 2 equivalent)
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with Vendors to install COTS Software
  • Proficiency in Windows Server 2016 or later, Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, and system monitoring tools

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with effective policy, instruction, and development for Federal or DoD Information Security Programs
  • Experience with performing Security Control Assessment in compliance with NIST SP 800- 37, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-53A, and other NIST 800 guide series
  • Understanding of FISCAM compliance
  • Experience installing Adobe Experience Manager
  • Experience with XACTA
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, firewall configurations, and security best practices.
  • Experience with writing and maintaining technical documentation

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
