The Public Health Institute (PHI) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting health, well-being, and quality of life for people throughout California, across the nation and around the world. As one of the largest and most comprehensive public health organizations in the nation, we are at the forefront of research and innovations to improve the efficacy of public health statewide, nationally, and internationally.

PHI was distinguished as one of the top 50 "Best Non-Profit Organizations to Work For" by the Non-Profit Times in a national search.

Job Description

SUMMARY:

PHI's Build Healthy Places Network program (BHPN) is a national center at the intersection of community development and health. Our mission is to shift the way organizations work across the community development, finance, and health sectors to collectively advance equity and improve health in neighborhoods across the country.

The Senior Program Manager will lead management and coordination of program and project activities for BHPN. This oversight encompasses coordinating communities of practice, writing and managing resource and tool development, and fostering partnerships with national, regional, and local multisector organizations.

Bringing strong expertise in community development, this position will advance BHPN national efforts to build momentum for coordinated systems change and collaboration across the health and community development sectors to more effectively co-invest in neighborhood revitalization that centers community power, and overturns racist systems of disinvestment to create healthier neighborhoods. BHPN cultivates community partnerships, providing technical assistance, developing strategies for partnering with healthcare and other anchor institutions to attract investment. Our work guides national collaboratives to center community voice and create tools to assist institutions taking this path. We lift up anti-displacement strategies; synthesize and communicate innovation; and inform policy change to advance racial equity.

BHPN leads community of practices in community development, healthcare, public health and across sectors to support community-led investments in disinvested communities in both urban and rural settings. We invite participants as co-creators, to explore shared language for equity and deepen our collective narrative for local investment, shifting resources and assets into community control.

This is a remote, regular full-time position. Candidates in the United States are welcome to apply.

Full salary range for this position: $91,910 to $137,348 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $91,910 (minimum) to $114,629 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.

Travel to conferences and meetings in various U.S. cities will be required periodically.
