Responsibilities

Palo Verde Behavioral Health is searching for an experienced Director of Admissions/Intake.

The Director of Admissions directs the Admissions Department activities for the facility. As a clinician, this position provides direction, supervision, and guidance to a staff of specialists in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, and functions as a liaison with other hospital intake departments.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to various populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients in an outpatient and partial hospital setting.

Education:

LCSW, Ph.D., or RN-Licensure-(Bachelors or Master's) prepared from an accredited college or university.

Previous experience in Mental Health related field preferred.

Ph.D. or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable.

Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.

Licensure:

R.N., L.C.S.W., Ph.D., or applicable license.

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PVBH is an 84-bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency.
