SUMMARY Designs new or special products, new developments, or modifications by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Utilizes computer aided drafting techniques to perform applicable drafting work. Makes required calculations to determine and establish acceptable standards of performance, material selection, type of construction, etc. Prepares sketches or drawings, set up specifications, and other pertinent design data for layout drawings. Performs all necessary investigations pertinent to the design and maintains reference criterion incidental to design. Analyzes manufacturing and material costs. Develops designs that can be produced economically to maintain or improve E.K. Machine's competitive position Follows up on the construction and testing of projects and assists with analyzing results. Performs corrective re-designing when required. Assists drafting department personnel in the preparation of layout drawings and detailing. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Five to seven years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using computer applications, including Solid Works, Auto Cad, and Microsoft Office and drafting software.
