This role will be part of a team of information technology professionals responsible for designing and managing the system used to manage hardware and software assets, overseeing asset quality control, and developing process and architectural improvements. - Serve as a point of contact for CMDB access, content and support and access to its content
- Provide training and guidance to CMDB users and stakeholders
- Deliver prompt support for reported CMDB support issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Proactively maintain and enhance CMDB data quality through regular reviews and improvement initiatives
- Design and deliver sustainable ad hoc reports to address frequently asked CMDB questions and to support decision making
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the CMDB data model, and the core functionality of the ServiceNow platform specifically related to the CMDB application
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve accessibility, usability, and value of the CMDB data and drive implementation
- Create and maintain comprehensive end-user documentation for CMDB processes and related systems
Knowledge and Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in CMDB administration
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting (including PivotTable and conditional formatting)
- At least 2 years of experience with ServiceNow reporting and dashboard creation
- Demonstrated expertise in CMDB data models, including Class Model, Service Model, and Discovery and Reconciliation Model
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify trends, and present actionable insights
- Proven ability to develop work plans and execute tasks aligned with team goals
- Self-directed and proactive in managing responsibilities, with effective communication and ownership of issues
- Capable of developing solutions independently or collaboratively as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage projects in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Desirable Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, science, or related field
- Working experience with asset management and discovery tools such as Tanium, Axonius or JAMf
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Software Discovery and investigation processes
- Ability to develop automation scripts using Python, Perl, or scripting skills for CMDB updates and data reconciliation
- Familiarity with AI-driven automation, prompt engineering, and LLM integration
- Ability to create diagrams, business process workflows, and/or entity relationship diagrams
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with CSDM and Hardware Asset Management
- Working experience with data certification and attestation processes
- Working experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics (PA)
- Knowledge of modeling and tracking cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP) within the CMDB
