THE POSITION

Washington County's Assessment and Taxation Department (A&T) is seeking to fill an
Industrial Appraiser vacancy in the Industrial Business Property section.
The Opportunity
The Industrial Appraiser performs comprehensive appraisals of industrial properties, including land, buildings, business, personal property, real machinery and equipment. This position will also coordinate with the Department of Revenue for state appraised industrial property valuations and will administer industrial exemption programs in accordance with Oregon Revised Statutes, Oregon Administrative Rules, Oregon Department of Revenue and local ordinances.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after initial onboarding and is subject to department need.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Experience and Education:
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in business administration or a field of study related to, quantitative analysis AND two (2) years of work experience in property appraisal, real estate, or a field performing quantitative analysis; OR
- Possession of an Associate Degree in business administration or a field of study related to quantitative analysis AND four (4) years of work experience in property appraisal, real estate, or a field performing quantitative analysis; OR
- Six (6) years of work experience in property appraisal, real estate, or a field performing quantitative analysis
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements
- Possession of a current registration as a qualified Property Appraiser from the State of Oregon Department of Revenue (ORS 308.010), at the time of appointment.
- Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
- Must pass a criminal background check post-offer.

NOTE: POSSESSION OF AN ACTIVE APPRAISER REGISTRATION UNDER ORS 308.010 IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE. COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER REGISTRATION IS DIFFERENT THAN THE CERTIFICATION FOR FEE APPRAISERS. The appraisal certification does not substitute for Washington County property appraiser registration. You must apply to the State to take the County property appraiser test and receive notification of registration. Visit Oregon's Department of Revenue's Appraiser Registration page for information about the registration process, to submit your online registration application, and to access exam preparation resources. Please note testing is only available on the first, third, and fifth (if applicable) Thursday of each month from 9 am - 12 pm. Exams are conducted via Zoom.
