Join our Sibley Nursing Team as a Geriatric ED & Resource Nurse!

With its 318 beds, this non-profit, full-service acute care hospital offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

The Geriatric ED and Resource Nurse oversees the delivery of specialized care for older adults by applying geriatric best practice protocols in assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. They guide staff in enhancing problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, while ensuring coordinated care and effective communication for elderly patients with both acute and chronic health needs.

Unit/Schedule:

• Geriatric Resource RN
• Part-time 24 hours/week, partially benefited position (full health care benefits except dependent child tuition assistance and paid parental leave)
• 3 x 8-hour shifts, or 2 x 12-hour shifts

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Professional Nursing. MSN preferred.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
• Completed Geriatric Resource Nurse Educational Modules
• Certified as a Gerontological Nurse from the ANCC (or must acquire within 6 months of hire)
• 2+ years clinical experience with older adults
