Position Summary: The National Account Manager at MacKenzie-Childs is responsible for growing sales and overseeing the business development for a group of accounts within our major/key account base. This multi-faceted role requires a dedicated focus on overarching company & department initiatives combined with understanding the individualized nuances & behaviors of each account to ensure business plans and KPI's are being met successfully on both sides (Mackenzie-Childs & the retailer). This role involves a holistic approach to business management (including, but not limited to assortment planning, Financial sales planning, marketing, visual merchandising & relationship-building) to ensure that customer expectations are being met and that our presence in the marketplace as a premium brand continues to strengthen. As part of the business development process, this person is responsible for implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability, maintaining relationships with retailer buying teams to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty are being upheld, and analyzing data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned): * Financial Sales Management: o Manage all aspects of sell-in (cost shipments) and sell-through (retail sales) to ensure company goals/budgets and margin requirements are met. o This includes ongoing Sales analysis and periodic tracking of initiatives (Building Blocks) with established corrective action plans to fill gaps. * Assortment Management: o Keen eye to managing and developing Assortments across categories. o Analyzing sales results and reports back with details of performance and gap-fill analysis with contingency plans. * Shares new product line/launches with retailers (assortment, pricing, terms, etc.) and develops solid business plans with recommended placement; includes order management and retail receipt plans. * Challenges retailers to meet our premium brand expectations. This includes storytelling via best-in-class marketing, merchandising and MMAP adherence. * Leverages the strength of the MC brand to gain an incremental share of physical space In-store and virtual space on-line: o Store - challenging retailers for best-in-class merchandising presentation at all times (Signage, POP, Shop-in-Shops) o On-line - monitoring activity and recommending enhancements of PDPs, Brand Pages and Banners (content, lifestyle imagery, videos), and Bridal Gift Registry o Marketing/Advertising - analyzes best use of Co-op/marketing funds and evaluates return on investment. Includes strong, content-driven Social Media efforts and digital content (eblasts, etc). * Provides retailers with clear communication of key MacKenzie-Childs marketing initiatives to garner full alignment of channel/brand strategies and execution. * Conducts quality customer meetings and presentations that include Business Plan progress to achieve established goals. * Reports internally weekly and monthly progress versus budget with adjustment and plans * Shares MC promotional calendar with launch campaign details and buy-in requirements to drive increased demand and incremental sales growth. * Qualifies new sales opportunities and looks for opportunities to build new business while securing customer loyalties. * Working well with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Visual Merchandising Finance and Operations * Closely monitors category and business trends along with competitive activity. * Researching and preparing for meetings, to include becoming familiar with all of the product line's features, functions and benefits * Being comfortable presenting to customers, and having a solid knowledge of the topic(s) at hand Supervisory Responsibilities: * None Qualifications
Education and Experience: * 4-year College Degree or equivalent work experience * Reporting and Data entry capabilities * Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Location: * Remote. Special Requirements: * Travel to Atlanta Market two weeks per year (January and July) * Travel to Aurora, NY at least 2 weeks per year (April and October) * Additional travel to visit accounts as needed (on average 2x per year per account) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment with a focus on meeting deadlines. * Excellent attention to detail. * Maintain consistent, dependable attendance * Computer proficiency includes word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Excellent organizational and project management skills. * Attention to details and time management skills. * Ability to maintain accurate records and data files. * Ability to analyze and solve problems. * Dedication to excellent customer service Equipment Used: * Computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and calculator. * Software: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and NuOrder, Scene7, Netsuite Physical and Mental Requirements: * Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists. * Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects. * Light mental and visual attention required for performing work where there is some variety but actions taken and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others. Environmental Conditions: * Work is performed in a typical (home) office environment where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
