Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager will oversee HR operations at the Distribution Center, supporting a positive workplace environment, ensuring legal compliance, and guiding both employee and management development through partnership with DC leadership. This position is a wonderful opportunity to be a champion who can work with the management team to enhance the culture as well as leading a change management process with proven methods and experience.

Essential Role and Responsibilities: Manage all HR functions for distribution center including but not limited to:

* Employee relations to ensure prompt and thorough investigations and resolutions handled with discretion.

* Experience working in an environment of 150+ employees (plus a temporary staff) of hourly and salaried employees.

* Develop and deliver training programs for managers; and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills as well as safety awareness training.

* Partner with DC leadership to address and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals and to address workforce planning, and staffing needs.

* Oversee the administration of company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws (including NYS employment law).

* Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes for DC employees.

* Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and HRIS data for all DC staff.

* Administer leave programs (FMLA, NYS PFL, ADA accommodations) and coordinate return-to-work plans.

* Partner with safety and operations teams on workplace safety initiatives, including OSHA compliance and workers compensation reporting.

* Ability to perform job analysis to enhance or revise job descriptions as needed.

* Support managers with performance evaluation processes and talent development.

* Monitor HR metrics to analyze and address issues such as turnover, absenteeism, and engagement to inform proactive strategies.

* Providing usable and informative reports to DC leadership on current metrics on a routine, timely basis.

* Lead employee engagement and recognition programs to foster a positive culture.

* Support payroll and benefits administration as needed for DC staff

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field is preferred; HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

* Three plus years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years in a Human Resources Management, Sr. Generalist or Generalist role.

* Strong working knowledge of federal and NYS employment laws and HR best practices.

* Proven ability to coach and train managers on employee development and compliance.

* Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced DC environment.

* Proven experience in working with safety committees; safety programs and workers compensation management

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

* Must have experience working in a distribution, manufacturing, or similar operation.

* Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Occasional weekend work as required to meet business needs.

* Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess and solve HR-related issues.

* Proficiency in HR technology systems and reporting tools.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.

Equipment Used: Computer, printer, scanner, telephone, and photocopier.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

* Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.

* Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

* Light mental and visual attention are required for performing work where there is some variety, but actions taken and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others.

Environmental Conditions:

This position is based on-site at the Distribution Center and requires regular interaction on the floor with employees and managers. Occasional travel to corporate offices or other locations may be required.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 annually
