Staff Technical Solutions Engineer (Multiple Positions)

Staff Technical Solutions Engineer (Multiple Positions), Databricks, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex customer issues related to Databricks Platform and serve as the technical bridge between the frontline support team & the engineering team. Analyze the core component metrics and logs to address issues. Provide suggestions and best practice guidance for improving performance in customer-specific environments and providing product improvement feedback. Help the support team with detailed Troubleshooting guides and Runbooks. Contribute to Automation and Tooling programs to make daily troubleshooting efficient. Partner with the engineering team and spread awareness of upcoming features and releases. Identify and contribute supportability features back into the product. Demonstrate ownership and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to achieve resolution of customer issues and requests. Participate in weekend and weekday on-call rotation. May mentor or supervise more junior Technical Solutions Engineers. Telecommuting permitted. (DBxCA043)

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $180,200 - $190,200/yr.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 72 months of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in a Technical Support Role.

Alternatively, will accept Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus 36 months of experience in Technical Support Role.

Of the required experience, must have 36 months in:

·      Python or Java application troubleshooting;

·      Linux/Unix OS troubleshooting;

·      Network Troubleshooting;

·      Distributed Big Data Computing environment; and

·      Hadoop/Spark in either an administrative, development or support role is required.

Must have 24 months in:

·      Experience working with Databases.
