Starting Salary Range $72,094 to $81,096 Annual (Management Grade 14) |
Salary/Compensation Statement: |
- New hires may only be placed as high as step four ($81,096) due to internal equity. The application is used to determine the initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered. The full range for the position is $72,094 - $106.717.
- Our Management Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, long-term disability as well as paid sick leave and vacation time.
- Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions regarding your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or to the US Department of Education.

Position Purpose: |
This position plans and directs all administrative and operational activities for the President and Board of Education. Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the President to facilitate efficient decision-making. Act as a point of contact or gatekeeper to the President and Board of Education and other stakeholders. Serve as senior staff to the President and Board of Education and report directly to the President on a wide variety of administrative and executive duties involving the President's Office and its priorities |
Essential Functions: |
- Models service excellence in interactions with students, college employees, and community members.
- Assists the President and Board with daily operations.
- Manage the President's calendar; plan attendance and travel arrangements for the President; assist in the planning and organization of college meetings and events.
- Compose correspondence for the President which requires access to confidential information, bargaining materials, evaluations, grievances, legal, and harassment issues.
- Attend and record highly confidential meetings with employees, senior administrators, and the board of education.
- Maintain college contracts and agreements, including President's employment contract and legal services agreement.
- Liaison to the Board of Education on matters as delegated by the President. Work in collaboration with the administration as a liaison to the Board of Education
- Prepare and/or contribute to the preparation of reports, proposals, briefings, and presentations, responses on institutional issues.
- Handle questions, concerns, issues, and requests on the President's and Board's behalf.
- Support the execution of college-wide projects undertaken by the President and Board of Education.
- Research and provide responses to various internal and external requests for information.
- Respond to requests from the media and refer to President, PIO, or appropriate administrator.
- Analyze budget and project expenses of the President's Office and Board of Education.
- Maintain current paper and electronic files and archived records for the President and Board of Education office.
- Plan, design, and organize meetings of the Board of Education.
- Provide follow-up on action items resulting from board activities and decisions.
- Produce templates, flyers, presentations, and forms.
- Works collaboratively with other Management Support staff and provides backup as needed.
- Ensure the implementation of the College's Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunities concerning policies, goals, and timetables in assigned areas. Ensure staff development on diversity, inclusive climate, and respectful learning and working environment issues.
- Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.

Physical Demands/Working Environment: |
This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to sixty (60) pounds. Work safely. |
