Finance Lead - Institutional Retirement (Hybrid)

The Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) Finance Lead is a member of the IRS Actuarial and Finance team, responsible for product development, providing financial reporting support and managing risk and capital solutions for IRS products. In this role, you will report to the IRS CFO and lead the financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting processes for IRS:

Lead the annual financial planning and budgeting processes for IRS

  • Manage finance team to establish annual financial plans and budgets aligned with and in support of IRS growth strategies, in partnership with IRS CFO and Actuarial team.
  • Establish an integrated planning process that synchronizes strategic, financial and operational plans to achieve alignment with business strategy
  • Use planning, budgeting and forecasting to anticipate in-year decisions, mitigate risks, model and assess a range of scenarios and reprioritize initiatives as needed.
  • Accountability for all required enterprise processes for IRS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Lead quarterly financial reporting and management reporting processes

  • Manage team to perform quarterly financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Manage team to develop quarterly management reporting to share IRS financial results and analysis with Enterprise financial leadership
  • Coordinate with enterprise partners (Financial reporting, valuation COE, FP&A team) to ensure IRS team is meeting enterprise financial and management reporting needs
  • Accountability for all required enterprise processes for IRS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Provides technical guidance to the FP&A team

Support IRS growth strategy

  • Support IRS growth strategy development, including financial projections and business case development.
  • Manage team to operationalize support for new products, including accounting implementation, and integration into financial and management reporting.

Provide leadership for IRS team finance technology portfolio:

  • Identify technology and process improvements to automate and streamline IRS financial and management reporting processes.
  • Advocate for improvements as needed, including serving as IRS liaison with ERP product owner team, ALIP support team, and other technology solutions as needed.
  • Serve as IRS champion for AI - identifying process improvement across IRS teams and providing leadership and advocacy to enable AI solutions.

Qualifications

  • CPA or Masters in Accounting, with experience in Insurance Financials reporting (GAAP and/or Stat)
  • 3+ years' experience in FP&A, including business case development and management reporting processes
  • Ability and desire to collaborate across several teams and functions
  • Strong leadership skills, including communication and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Ability and desire to lead Finance team, including coaching others and fostering a continuous improvement mindset
  • People leadership experience

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$86,500.00 - $160,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
