Program Coordinator (5002)

The Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine is seeking a Program Coordinator to join our team. This position provides coordination and support for programs of the Survivor Recovery Center (SRC) within the Department of Family and Community Medicine. The SRC fosters healing, recovery, and connection for those that have experienced interpersonal violence through evidence based, trauma informed treatment, advocacy, and education. This role assists primarily with two SRC program: (1) a collaborative project with the SIU Office of Correctional Medicine (OCM) to provide trauma education throughout facilities of the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC); and (2) the clinical Safe from the Start program (SFS), providing behavioral healthcare for children under the age of 5 and their families. SRC staff at all levels are expected to provide assistance to patients and community members in a trauma informed manner while maintaining safety and privacy.

SIU School of Medicine does not participate in the E-Verify program. Employment eligibility will be verified in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

ADMINISTRATION (90%)
A. Ensures timely delivery of program deliverables and required reports to funding
agencies and partners.
B. Assists in creating program policies and procedures for clinical and non-clinical
SRC programs.
C. Researches and supports development of educational materials for patients,
partners, and the broader community.
D. Coordinates communication with and activities for stakeholder coalition to foster
discussion with community partners about trauma informed care and violence
prevention.
E. Supports clinical providers to coordinate care for patients and families, including
young children age birth to 5.
F. Coordinates logistics for inter-agency meetings and trainings, including regular
travel locally in Sangamon County as well as to various IDOC facilities.
G. Conducts outreach meetings and events to educate partners and the public
about SRC programs.
H. Coordinates development, distribution, and collection of program surveys and
assessments.
I. Assists in managing and developing program budgets.
J. Participates in SRC meetings and represents individual SRC program priorities.
K. Pursues professional development activities to expand knowledge of relevant
fields related to trauma, corrections, and pediatric behavioral health.
L. Demonstrates, by actions, commitment to the mission and the behavioral
standards of SIU School of Medicine. Provides excellent service to both internal
and external customers through collaboration and partnership; compassion and
respect; integrity and accountability; diversity and inclusion; as well as
continuous learning and improvement.

TEACHING (5%)
A. Provides program-specific knowledge and education for SRC interns and other
visiting learners.

SERVICE (5%)
A. Serves on SIU School of Medicine and departmental committees as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*Bachelor's degree with a focus on social work, health administration, social sciences, or related field.
*A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of healthcare, corrections, and/or social sciences. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
*Must have valid Illinois driver's license, reliable vehicle and auto insurance.
