Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Support the Executive Chef in managing all back-of-house operations including food preparation, execution, and kitchen sanitation.
- Lead the preparation and execution of Asian menus, ensuring authenticity, consistency, and innovation.
- Assist with menu development and tastings for the hotel restaurant, private events, and banquets.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet luxury and brand standards at all times.
- Act as a role model for culinary standards and workplace professionalism.
Team Development & Operations
- Train and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and stewards on Asian techniques and kitchen safety.
- Foster a collaborative and disciplined kitchen environment aligned with hotel culture.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety codes, including proper storage, rotation, and sanitation.
- Assist in scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations of kitchen staff.
- Help manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for assigned food areas.
Guest Experience & Event Support
- Ensure food is consistently delivered with timeliness, accuracy, and artistry.
- Support private dining and banquet events with custom Chinese cuisine offerings.
- Collaborate with front-of-house and banquet teams to ensure seamless service for VIP guests and special events.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Asian Chef in upscale or luxury dining environments.
- Formal culinary training preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience working in multicultural, high-volume kitchens.
- Excellent knife skills, time management, and food safety knowledge.
- Ability to lead by example with calm and focus under pressure.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
