Overview: We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Chemist located at our Princeton, NJ location. The candidate for this position will support the Fabric Care Research and Development activities with development of new formulations and product improvements in addition to other R&D work. The Associate Chemist will be under the supervision of an R&D Manager in a manner consistent with the C&D R&D Core Principles of teamwork, consumer and customer focus, personal responsibility and integrity, and ethical behavior and practices. Responsibilities: * With help from supervisor, design technical plan to develop products or prototypes to meet project design parameters. * Identify and/or develop methods and conduct tests to evaluate products or prototypes against established goals. * Record and analyze data; draw conclusions and make recommendations for next steps. * Help summarize and document results for project update reports. * Evaluate new technologies for use in products/prototypes. * Interact on project teams within R&D (Consumer Experience, Safety, Processing, Packaging) and with outside suppliers and vendors. * Guide/Coach laboratory technicians and/or temporary employees with clear direction and prioritization. Education and Experience: Must have a BS degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry or related discipline with 0-2 years of laboratory experience. Skills and Competencies: * Good laboratory experimental execution, data recording and safety practices. * Strong work ethic and ability to work independently on multiple projects. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The US base salary range for this full-time position is $58,500 - $83,300, with bonus eligibility. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity.
