JOB DESCRIPTION

Delta Dental's Provider Relations team is responsible for building and maintaining high-quality, cost-effective, and competitive provider networks that support growth across multiple lines of business. As a Provider Network Ambassador, you will represent Delta Dental in the provider community, serving as a key liaison and advocate for our brand. This role is dedicated to delivering a best-in-class provider experience by managing relationships with dental providers and their office teams, helping ensure they reflect the level of service we promise to our members.

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and service-oriented professional who brings energy, relationship management expertise, and a deep understanding of dental benefits to every interaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a consultative partner for the federal government FGP line of business, with a primary focus on the CCN program and related federal contracts.
  • Provide support for additional business lines including Medicare Advantage and DeltaCare as needed, assisting with provider contracting, claim payment resolution, and other servicing functions.
  • Promote provider office efficiency by encouraging the use of digital tools and value-added services.
  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with providers and dental office staff to enhance the overall provider experience.
  • Manage a high volume of daily inquiries and service requests from providers, the VA, and clients.
  • Strengthen provider network growth and stability by minimizing provider turnover and ensuring alignment with Delta Dental's quality and cost-effectiveness standards.
  • Conduct provider outreach, education, and training, including on-site dental office reviews, to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to monitor provider performance, support issue resolution, and implement service improvements.
  • Facilitate both virtual and in-person provider interactions across assigned territories, offering support with issue resolution, data analysis, and the use of network tools.
  • Evaluate provider appointment availability through service calls and address access gaps to ensure network compliance.
  • Collaborate with organized dentistry, local dental societies, and internal enterprise teams to identify trends, share insights, and support the profession.
  • Analyze competitor intelligence and internal data to inform network retention strategies and assess the cost-effectiveness of retaining providers in key markets.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in dental managed care or a related healthcare field.
  • 3 or more years of dental office experience (front or back office preferred).
  • Prior experience in provider network management, customer service, and/or account management.
  • Curious and eager to understand dental business practices and provider needs.
  • Clear and confident in presenting both written and verbal information.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to apply Professional Selling Skills (PSS) principles.
  • Skilled at interpreting market and provider data to guide decision-making.
  • Comfortable interfacing with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of CDT codes and dental terminology (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptable in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with dental and general insurance procedures.
  • Willingness to travel by car or air as need; able to front business expenses if needed and submit expenses for reimbursement. Currently, travel is less than 10%.
  • Able to maintain and operate a personal vehicle safely for company business.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 18. $56,900 - $119,200
