The Internal Communications Manager, North America, is pivotal in shaping and executing our internal communication strategies to ensure alignment with our corporate goals and enhance employee engagement across the region.
Adapting from the Global Internal Communication strategy, this role will develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with the company's vision, transversal Regional business objectives, enhance employee engagement, and ensure consistent messaging across all internal channels. In regions with multiple sites, the Internal Communications Manager, North America, will be accountable for ensuring that communications are consistent across sites when needed and tailored as necessary.
This role will work actively to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage communication efforts during crises to support organizational goals.
Primary Duties:
Strategic Communication Planning:
  • Adapting from the Global Internal Communication strategy, develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with the Region's business objectives, meeting the needs of team members. Ensure consistent messaging across all internal channels.
  • Proactively identify internal communication needs and opportunities for simplification, developing plans for improvement.
  • Sharing and aligning plans and programs Globally to ensure synergies and best practices
Leadership Communication:
  • Partner with Regional senior leadership and/or their communication relays (i.e. Chief of Staff) to craft cohesive stories and deliver key messages, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the organization. Provide counsel on communication best practices and strategies.
Employee Engagement:
  • Partner with the relevant HR stakeholders regionally to create initiatives that enhance employee engagement, foster a positive workplace culture, and promote the company's values. Develop and execute communication plans ensuring they are tailored to the diverse audiences and channel strategies/preferences, so team members stay informed and engaged.
Content Development & Planning:
  • Oversee the creation of compelling and relevant content for various internal communication platforms, including bob (intranet), Regional newsletter, town hall meetings, etc. Ensure content is tailored to diverse audiences within the organization.
  • Identify internal stories that can go external - collaborating with their external counterpart to take the story further.
  • Partner with Global or Regional Brand & Digital Lead to best leverage content to build comprehensive campaigns, and develop and maintain content on local sections of bob and Viva Engage
Crisis Communication:
  • Be poised to lead and/or support on communication efforts during crises, ensuring timely and accurate information is disseminated to employees. Support the Regional VP Communications & External Communications in developing and maintain crisis communication plans and protocols.
Measurement and Analysis:
  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve communication efforts and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends, best practices and collaborative share within the team
Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Facilitate a network of regional communication relays, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide guidance and support to ensure the success of communication tactics and implementation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Marketing, Site Heads and Operations, to ensure alignment and integration of communication efforts. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to support communication goals.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
    • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in internal communications, with at least 5 years' experience in a large, complex organization is highly desirable.
  • 3 + years in using communication tools and platforms such as Sharepoint and Viva Engage
