Classification: Exempt Job Summary: The Leadership Development & Planning Manager supports and implements programs that build management and leadership capabilities across the business. This position maintains leadership competency frameworks, facilitates training and development initiatives, and promotes a culture of coaching and continuous learning. It also contributes to career pathing, talent assessments, and succession planning efforts. This role involves data analysis and reporting on development outcomes and collaboration with teams across North America to align leadership strategies with business goals. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. This position also includes oversight of Alsco's Management Training Program (MTP). Position reports to the Senior HR Manager. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. About Us: We are Alsco Uniforms. Benefits may vary for positions covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation: $100k - $120k; bonus eligible with a target of 15% Essential Functions:
- Execute and monitor leadership development programs aligned with business strategies to enhance management capabilities at all organizational levels. Ensure consistent delivery and reinforcement of leadership principles and practices.
- Develop, maintain, and evolve leadership capability models, competency frameworks, and skill matrices that support both short- and long-term talent strategies.
- Coordinate and support the delivery of formal training, coaching engagements, mentorship initiatives, and experiential learning opportunities aimed at leadership growth and succession readiness.
- Promote and foster a company-wide culture of continuous learning, informal knowledge sharing, and peer coaching/mentoring. Encourage the use of best practices in leadership development across departments.
- Drive awareness and engagement in leadership and professional development offerings by partnering with internal communications and HR business partners to promote development and career pathing initiatives.
- Monitor key metrics and create regular reports on program participation, outcomes, and impact on leadership pipeline health. Provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders.
- Participate in talent reviews and succession planning cycles by maintaining up-to-date talent assessments, identifying high-potential employees, and supporting the development of succession efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and HR leadership to ensure development initiatives are aligned with business needs and delivered effectively.
- Manages university relations and occasionally attends and coordinates university career fairs and interviews for graduate and intern candidates.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in leadership development, organizational development, HR, or talent management roles.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing leadership or management development programs.
- Strong facilitation skills and comfort working with leaders at various levels of the business.
- Experience with adult learning methodologies, coaching frameworks, and competency modeling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across functions.
- Proficiency in learning management systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools a plus.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree or professional certification in a relevant area (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, CPLP, ATD, or coaching certification) preferred but not required.
Travel Requirements:
- This position requires up to 35% travel, primarily to branch locations across North America and the corporate office, to support the strategic execution of leadership development, coaching, and succession planning.
Office Location: This position is officed in Alsco's corporate office in Salt Lake City, Utah. Physical Requirements:
- Physical Demands/Requirements - sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, walking, writing, speaking, hearing.
