This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which servesthe telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose

Perform higher level electrical component assemblies accurately according to work instructions, drawing specifications and/or engineering requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble/solder or disassemble batteries, chargers, and accessories by hand, hand tools, simple automatic tools, and automated machines following supervisor/engineering directions and work instructions.
  • Notify the appropriate personnel of any problems associated with the disassembly or re-assembly process.
  • Perform multiple computer-based functional tests and other functional tests concurrently.
  • Precisely apply RTV, epoxy and glue at specified area, assemble connector assemblies by crimping wires to socket/lug, apply labels or stamp at specified area on products, perform meshing and taping on products, operate automated machines, and sow on ad hoc assignments.
  • Performs various types of soldering including surface mount, thru-hole, and hand-soldering such as wire soldering with wire gauge and solder small surface mount technology component replacement and installation.
  • Assist in defect troubleshooting by dissembling, reworking, and reassembling various parts.
  • Recommend changes to facilitate the ease of manufacturing products, working instructions, and drawing developments.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and report damaged equipment; contact supervisor/line leader if supplies are needed.
  • Clean and inspect assembles and/or sub-assemblies in conformance to manufacturing quality standards and initial products as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience Required: 5 years +
  • Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills/Competencies: Ability to read and understand work instructions. Assemble small objects in limited assembly space.
  • Work Environment: Will encounter electrical and mechanical components. May encounter contact with various chemicals such as adhesives and compounds.
    Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting/standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time. Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Training Requirements: J-STD-001, IPC 610, IPC 620, ESD, FOD, General Safety, Production SOP
