Job Purpose

We are now accepting applications for a Penske Driver position, in department 19, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor. This is in pay group V-PS. This position is currently for B-shift, but is subject to change based on a posted shift change. This is a Skill & Qualification position, so to be considered you must meet the minimum qualifications. Under general supervision, the Penske Driver performs work of moderate difficulty maintaining manufacturing material inventories.Keeps material supplied to the production workers by continually hauling and moving material to different facilities and line locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of tasks is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by this position. Persons in this position will perform all other tasks as assigned and work overtime as required.

  1. Operate pallet/fork truck in a safe manner.
  2. Operate Penske truck in a safe manner.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and daily safety inspections.
  4. Supply necessary material to production workers.
  5. Remove empty racks/pallets from workstations/ load and unload trucks/store
  6. Drive to different buildings to pick up material and deliver to locations.
  7. Maintain necessary paperwork.
  8. Perform daily housekeeping, hygiene & cleanliness procedures.
  9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A high school diploma or GED is required.
  2. A minimum of one year of manufacturing or distribution center experience is required.
  3. A forklift license is required.
  4. Experience in hazardous material handling is preferred.
General Job Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to operate a forklift.
