Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
Under the general supervision of the clinic director in endodontic department, performs various duties related to patient and financial management for the Advanced Education Program in
Endodontology.

Essential Functions |
- Answer telephones, greet patients, respond to inquiries, schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Perform duties related to patient intake; prepare and input patient information and acquire insurance information; verify patient accountability for completeness and accuracy.
- Contact patients by letter or telephone regarding insurance coverage, claims, or account balance.
- Act as patient care coordinator for specialty clinics including setting up patient contracts and financial approvals according to established procedures.
- Resolve patient dissatisfaction or concerns; refer patient to appropriate individual as necessary.
- Manage scheduling of follow-up and case recalls for endodontic residency patients.
- Assist in developing relationships with referring dentists and referring dental organizations.
- Assist in tracking outcomes data for accreditation.
- Schedule and confirm endodontic resident rotations in extramural clinics (i.e., La Clinica ).
- Perform chairside dental assisting duties in the Advanced Endodontic Clinic including taking CBCT 's and four-handed dentistry as necessary or requested.
- Set up and maintain updates of the Faculty schedule, the residents rotation and the RDA's schedule too.
- Maintaining inventory of dental instruments and processing purchase orders.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the clinic director in endodontic department.

Minimum Qualifications |
Knowledge of:
- Dental terminology and treatments.
- Dental insurance procedures.
- Insurance billing procedures.
- Accounts receivable principles.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail systems.
- Electronic health records/financial management system software.
- Chairside dental assisting.
- Sterilization and infection control procedures.
- Emergency procedures including CPR.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all constituencies.
- Effectively utilize clinic management system to enter and manage patient information.
- Explain financial obligations for dental procedures as necessary.
- Resolve patient concerns regarding billing and financial obligations.
- Compose professional correspondence.
- Pay close attention to detail.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Work in fast paced environment and maintain professional composure and demeanor.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a group practice or dental school clinic setting.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current RDA license.
- Current California x-ray license.
- Current CPR certification
Working Conditions:
- Position is full-time, five (5) days per week, thirty seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week, Monday-Friday.
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may reasonably be anticipated. Personal protective equipment will be provided to reduce or eliminate exposure to routine or limited infectious agents.
