Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of duties of skilled/semi-skilled nature which support the hospital's preventive and restorative maintenance management programs, utility management program and safety program while supporting the continuous operation of other hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on all hospital systems and equipment.

2. Monitors, tests, inspects, PMs and performs other assigned tasks in support of utility/facility management program.

3. Inspects, services and schedules maintenance in support of the hospital's vehicle fleet.

4. Performs assigned duties to maintain and upkeep hospital

buildings and grounds.

5. Responds to customer work requests in a timely manner.

6. Demonstrates desired professional behavior, attitude and

appearance.


Qualifications

Qualifications: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

General maintenance knowledge and skills demonstrated with prior work experience.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure: Maintain current CPI (bi-annually) Certification. To operate Cumberland's vehicles, a current Virginia driver's license with a good driving record (minimum of +1 points) is required.

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to meet the basic health requirements of the hospital without restrictions.

* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.

* Weights above 50 pounds are to be done with assistance.

* Must possess physical stamina to shift, lift and move equipment and supplies.

* Position requires dexterity, good vision, ability to walk, stoop, bend, push and pull.

On-call/Overtime

Requirements:

* Maintenance Technicians are required to complete on-call rotations on a bi-weekly basis as scheduled by the D.P.O.

* After standard working hours (8:00-16:30), technicians are required to respond to calls within one (1) hour between the hours of (16:30-8:00) and on weekends.

* Technicians are required to continue testing for the Wastewater treatment Plant on the weekend.

* During the summer pool schedule, technicians are required to clean, test, and add chemicals as required for pool operation on the weekend.

* Assignments may vary based upon the needs of the facility.

Additional Duties:

* Technicians are required to report to work for manmade disasters, natural disasters, and emergencies.

* Snow and debris removal

* Power outages

* Assignments may vary based upon the needs of the facility.
