Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Development Specialist for the School of Engineering.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Collaborates with the Honors Hub team to design, coordinate, and assess programming for honors engineering students in the areas of internships, co-ops, undergraduate research, and experiential learning.
- Contributes to communication efforts through digital platforms, newsletters, and social media to effectively engage students and promote enrichment opportunities.
- Works closely with faculty, staff, and departments within the School of Engineering to advance student success, clarify academic policies, and foster a strong sense of community among honors students.
- Assists with data analysis and program assessment to measure effectiveness and outcomes.
- Assists with the planning and delivery of workshops, seminars, and events aimed at enhancing honors students' academic, personal, and professional growth.
- Supervises and trains student staff and volunteers, ensuring effective delivery of support services.
- Works closely with deans and advisors in the School of Engineering advising honors students.
- Provides guidance and support to honors students as they transition into the School of Engineering, including participation in workshops and orientation-related activities.
- Collaborates with RU-NB Honors College supporting honors students, including the SOE Summer Orientation and Academic Programming and Advising (APA) program planning and implementation.
- Creates training materials, and contributing to a culture of peer engagement and service excellence.
- Assists with other administrative duties such as purchase orders and student staff onboarding.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Enrichment Programs to support the mission of Undergraduate Education and the School of Engineering.
- Provides academic advising support during high peak times in the academic cycle for undergraduate students.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student development or counseling, organizational leadership, learning design and development, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in student advising, program coordination, or administrative support in an academic setting.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership to enhance interpersonal relationships and team building.
- Experience working with domestic and international students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism and the goal of providing outstanding service to undergraduate students.
- Excellent computer skills and comfortable communicating via online and social media channels; working knowledge of all Office applications and able to learn new systems at a rapid pace.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, a dynamic and engaging personality, personal flexibility, and experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a team environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and assessment techniques.
- Strong leadership abilities and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Significant experience in first-year programs, orientation, student success or academic advising
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, Canvas, DocuSign, Degree Navigator, IMS, navigator 360, SalesForce, and familiarity with web maintenance and social media platforms to facilitate student outreach and engagement.
- Familiarity with the undergraduate engineering curriculum and awareness of the unique challenges honors students may face in both academic and co-curricular settings.
- Experience with developing student programs or initiatives related to career readiness, research, or leadership development
