Job Description
Nature of Work * Perform skilled work on a journey level in the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning units, equipment, and systems. All work is subject to spot checking and inspection for conformance to specifications and accepted standards of the trade. Key Responsibilities * Perform repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of all mechanical and absorption air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems. This includes air cooled and water cooled systems as well as room coolers and window units. Utilize various tools: gauges, torches, vacuum pumps, drills, etc. in performing duties. Test and replace broken parts; check for and repair leaks; repair and adjust valves, fittings, and pipe connections; adjust refrigerant level of units; and service and lubricate units as required. * Perform installation of units by following specifications and diagrams. Carry or assist in moving units, materials, and equipment to job site. Operate all tools of the trade. Insulate and paint lines and equipment as required. * Clean, maintain, safely operate and properly store all tools and equipment. * Observe and enforce all safety requirements related to equipment operation. * May perform or assist with preparation of cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintenance of records. * May be required to inspect, test, and treat water in refrigeration and air conditioning systems and service treating equipment. * A valid driver's license which will allow the legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri is required. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Shift
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; Monday - Friday
Minimum Qualifications
* A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. * Four years actual work experience and training which may includeequivalent of apprenticeship or completion of vocational training, in trade. CFC certification. * Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, wiring, and plumbing diagrams. * Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of applicable trade. * Ability on a daily basis to: - Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment. - Grasp, lift, carry, and set down heavy objects (50-80 lbs.). - Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, lift, and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc. - Visually assess maintenance, construction and repair needs. - Climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding. * A valid driver's license may be required.
Anticipated Hiring Range
