GENERAL FUNCTION

The Maintenance Tech II is responsible for the upkeep and repair of interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, equipment, fixtures, parking and work areas related to the Distribution Center environment. Tech performs maintenance actions on any facility equipment in order to support production needs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Prepares surfaces for painting; selects proper coating and painting materials; applies painting/coating materials with rollers, and/or brush depending upon surface.
  • Repair and hang doors; repair and install locks.
  • Install and finish drywall, perform plumbing repairs
  • Performs carpentry and other wood working duties.
  • Performs minor electrical work as required.
  • Coordinates stocking of inventory and purchasing of equipment and materials needed.
  • Assemble, Move, and Repair any Active, Reserve, and Pallet Racking as necessary.
  • Preforms preventative maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment such as shipping lines and box erectors.
  • Any and all functions deemed necessary by management.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of distribution experience
  • Course work in building maintenance.
  • Three to five years prior work experience in carpentry, painting, and masonry/drywall/plumbing
  • Experience with Conveyor and Automation preferred.
  • General overall knowledge of general building maintenance and repair.
  • Consistent satisfactory experience and attendance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication Skills.
  • Follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
  • Ability to safely operate power industrial trucks, forklifts and other equipment. Some equipment places operators over 30 feet above the floor level (where applicable).
  • Ability to stand, walk, for extended periods of time on concrete floor.
  • Frequent bending, moving, walking, pushing, pulling and twisting as well as repetitive motion.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds.
