Job Description

This position will functionally serve network engineering and network tools support, software/automation for Network and platform engineering across the FedEx enterprise. This will include direct support of any scripting or software development needs to aid enterprise network tools and maintain/update current code libraries, tools and applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Network Tool and administration support and implementation to facilitate network engineering projects
  • Write code/custom automation and work with vendor standard APIs and software libraries to optimize network reliability tests and engineering
  • Write software, test, and configure networks/systems to aid programming/network development projects
  • Foundations in network engineering and functional understanding/experience with network tools and deployment. Exposure to different network technologies (SDWAN,ACI) would be a plus
  • Any SNMP/Flow based network monitoring toolset/ experience
  • System/Network Administration
  • Utilize strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or other system issues.
  • Provide technical support and documentation as required

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in electrical/network engineering, computer science, wireless engineering, and/or related field OR equivalent formal training or work experience.

Minimum Experience:

1-2 year(s) equivalent work experience in computer or network engineering/software and information technology environment, with the ability to write software/automate and apply principles and methods to projects, business problems, issues, and defects. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Network Engineering foundations- understand SVI's, ACL's, logging and fundamental routing/switching principles
  • Network tool stack - conceptual understanding of SNMP/NetFlow/Sflow/NetworkPolling
  • TCP/IP Stack, IP addressing and subnetting, understanding QoS policies and Network Bandwidth Analysis
  • Network Software development / programming
  • Ability to write code to interact with APIs
  • Basic Windows/Linux system administration
  • Ability to document software changes and adapt to change management guidelines

Essential Functions

  • Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, software, and implements resolution across technology areas.
  • May support activities related to change management, outage management, and project management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement

Pay: US pay range: $4,881.62 - $8,461.48 monthly
