Our company's measurable growth is in no small part due to our team members in North Carolina, Arkansas, Illinois, and Missouri, who each have a seat at the table to contribute to our success Maintenance Technical Training Supervisor Job Summary Supervises the day-to-day operations of the team responsible for ensuring team members are equipped with the necessary technical skills and safety knowledge to support operational excellence through effective and safe job performance. Responsible for onboarding maintenance and distribution team members, including evaluating mechanical and electrical abilities via industry standard assessments. Coordinates with local community colleges to plan and implement technical training. Maintains and administers Industrial Maintenance Technical Work System (IMTWS) program per enterprise guidelines. Schedules, administers, facilitates, and conducts physical practical's on all licensed power industrial trucks (PIT), including technical training for operations (i.e., Fork Trucks, Aerial Work Platforms, Telehandler, Trailer Locator, etc.). Key Responsibilities 1. Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces systems, policies, and procedures. 2. Partners evaluate and administers technical assessments for candidates. Applies crosswalk tools to provide hiring recommendations for candidate selection, career path, rate of pay, department, etc. 3. Conducts physical observations, skill assessments, routine safety and behavioral audits, check[1]ins, and gap analysis for team members to identify training needs and corrective actions. Facilitates and guides leadership through performance reviews, coaching, and training status. 4. Coordinates onboarding and ongoing technical training (recurring, corrective action, and specialized) for maintenance technicians, electricians, and/or other skilled trades, including reviewing and maintaining on and offsite training schedules and appointments, conducting crossover meetings, issuing reports for certifications and yearly trainings, coordinating with 3rd party vendors, and reviewing completed training for quality of work, thoroughness, and completion. 5. Presents live in-person trainings, including administering tests and practicals for PIT equipment and safety compliance. 6. Issues daily work assignments, maintaining relevant lists and attending staff meetings to review results. Trains new associates on proper way to complete tasks to meet expectation and business needs. 7. Reviews, corrects errors, and approves schedules, payroll, and certifications. Maintains accurate records. 8. Partners to administer, maintain, create, and update training resources, programs, and solutions as needed. Solicits information from team members to improve morale, training experience, and overall performance. 9. Contributes to cross-functional projects. 10. Ensures all training processes meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience) * 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role * 1+ year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role * OSHA 30 Hour Compliant General Industry card or ability to obtain * Certified or ability to become certified to conduct physical assessments using both STM and ESTD testing modules * Achieved or ability to achieve OSHA Outreach Training instructor level status including: 501, 503, 511 to instruct in person classes associated topics * Licensed operator for all relevant equipment with the ability to operate and provide training and auditing on proper use Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Butterball Core Competencies Caring about people, valuing contributions, and empowering to succeed is the Butterball Way. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Solid electrical and mechanical skills with the ability to facilitate SMT modules for recruiting and hiring needs * Skilled at administering, facilitating, and maintaining training with the ability to use online, remote, conference, and in-person training tools * Good understanding of how modern skills for pay training programs work and how to apply to industrial systems, safety, and compliance training * Familiarity with the principles of adult learning and development with the ability to guide and deliver training classes, computer-based training, and practical's * Working knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance best practices * Good leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, support, and motivate team members and peers * Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively deliver technical training, including formal instruction and practical's * Good organization, time-management, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to direct multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment * Strong technology/computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, One Drive, Adobe Acrobat, Database, Access It bade software solutions, cloud services, e-learning and video-based training platforms * Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation * Ability to physically maintain, replace, install, and support technical training computer lab, laptops, computers, and associated hardware with support from IT team * Experience with and ability to use hand tools and digital multimeter to troubleshoot issues with modules, correct and replace parts frequently, and ensure integrity of the evaluation process Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Experience with specific industrial systems, distribution, operations, and/or maintenance Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment, computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally climb and lift up to or about 50 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Working Conditions & Travel Requirements * Work will be performed in a variety of conditions. Occasionally in a climate-controlled office environment(s) and primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment. * The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. * Occasional travel may be required.
