Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development will lead the development and execution of Boston Children's Hospital's long-term enterprise strategy with a focus on accelerating growth across key areas: business development (organic and inorganic), digital health, partnering on international expansion, and strategic marketing. Reporting to the President and System Chief Operating Officer, this role will serve as a critical thought partner to the CEO and executive team, ensuring alignment across all business functions and clinical departments and drive initiatives that enhance the organization's competitive position in the healthcare space.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Lead company-wide strategic planning and annual strategy reviews.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through market analysis, including affiliations, joint ventures, and other creative partnerships.
  • Oversee execution of inorganic growth initiatives including due diligence, integration planning, and post-close value realization.
  • Partner with the VP of International to develop and align global initiatives with enterprise objectives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships or market entry in priority regions.

Digital Health

  • Guide strategy around digital health technologies, platforms, and services.
  • Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to evaluate and implement digital solutions that support care delivery, access, and outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of emerging health-tech trends, regulations, and digital care models.

Marketing & Communications

  • Oversee marketing and brand strategy to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Drive thought leadership, content, and communications that reflect the company's mission and growth priorities.
  • Coordinate across business units to ensure a consistent and compelling market presence.

Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with other C-suite leaders to ensure strategic priorities are integrated across all departments.
  • Facilitate cross-functional initiatives and support the President and COO and CEO in board communications.
  • Establish OKRs and reporting frameworks to track progress and ensure accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MPH, MHA, or similar advanced degree preferred
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in strategy, corporate development, or related areas within the healthcare industry, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in managing complex growth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of digital health trends, platforms, and regulatory landscape.
  • Experience working with or overseeing marketing strategy preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a healthcare system, health tech company, or payer/provider organization.
  • Prior responsibility for global strategy or international business development.
  • Familiarity with data-driven strategic planning tools and frameworks.
