We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in electronic product design with failure analysis experience, skilled in resolving issues related to multidisciplinary aspects of power delivery designs. The ideal candidate should leverage their expertise to investigate failures and be passionate about problem-solving and continuous improvement, with a commitment to product quality and future issue prevention. They must possess a "can do" attitude, independent thinking, and the ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues across all leadership levels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Practical experience and understanding of power delivery circuits, failure analysis, and system-level integration are essential in resolving issues with power.

In this role, you will collaborate with suppliers to predict, record failure signatures, and validate the behavior of power circuits including board mount power modules. Your deep understanding of analysis techniques, sub-components, and manufacturing processes will ensure all contributing root causes are identified with corrective actions preventing future occurrences.

Meet the team:

You'll join the Component Quality & Technology (CQT) within the Global Supplier Management (GSM) organization in Cisco's Supply Chain Organization. CQT is a key hub of technical innovation in Cisco. Members of the organization focus on evaluating and developing new technologies to enable sustained product differentiation. You will be a part of a team that seamlessly blends expertise in semiconductor and systems design, combining traditional knowledge with groundbreaking data analytics techniques to tackle increasingly sophisticated problems. You will regularly engage with Cisco Business Units as your partners and customers, Suppliers of the commodity space you are managing and the extended Supply Chain functions including Global Supply Management, Product Operations and Global Manufacturing Organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSME/BSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of electronic design and/or failure analysis experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with analog electronics, board design, circuit analysis, pcb layout, hardware debugging.
  • Fundamental understanding of discrete components with associated PCB attach technologies.
  • Experience driving failure analysis to resolve performance and quality issues within complex components and assemblies.
  • Experience of technical review for DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and manufacturing readiness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong in power electronics, electronic design principles, fabrication methods, validation testing.
  • Demonstrated competency in failure analysis techniques such as FMEA, 8D/Corrective Action, Fishbone IFD, Cause and Effect Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and risk assessment.
  • Experience on characterizing power semi-conductors in power converting topology.
  • Experience with power system design in networking equipment.
  • Knowledge of thermal design principles and their effects on application and components.
  • Experienced in managing supplier relationships and implementing corrective actions and rigorous quality control measures to ensure product standards and reliability are consistently met
