Job Summary: The Principal Business Analyst (PBA) plays a critical leadership role in driving strategic initiatives and delivering high-value business solutions. This role combines advanced analytical capabilities with team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. The PBA will lead the Business Analyst team, mentor junior and senior analysts, and serve as a key liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure the delivery of impactful products and process improvements. Majesco is a remote-first workplace; however, this position requires the successful candidate to be within commuting distance of our Morristown, New Jersey headquarters. Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading complex business analysis efforts across cross-functional teams, while also managing and mentoring a team of Business Analysts to ensure high-quality delivery of business requirements and solutions. This includes facilitating requirements elicitation sessions, defining functional specifications, and overseeing business process documentation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for high-impact initiatives, ensuring business needs are accurately captured, analyzed, and communicated to Product, Development, QA, and Implementation teams. Responsible for aligning business objectives with technical capabilities and maintaining traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Product Managers, Technical Leads, QA, Dev, and Delivery teams) to define scope, identify dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of business-critical solutions. Lead efforts in translating client needs into actionable stories or use cases within Agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Provide strategic direction and daily guidance to the Business Analyst team, including coaching, task allocation, quality review of deliverables, and professional development.
- Ensure business and functional documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with enterprise standards. Lead workshops, stakeholder interviews, and product demos as needed to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating current analysis practices, identifying gaps, and implementing best-in-class standards for documentation, stakeholder communication, and process modeling.
- Participate in Production support efforts by providing analysis for defect triaging, business rule evaluation, and process change requests. Act as an escalation point for requirement clarifications or functional blockers.
- Understand customer requirements and map them to internal platform features; collaborate with Product Management to influence the roadmap based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Comfortable working across global teams and time zones, both independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
All About You / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8-10 years of related experience, with at least 1-3 years in a team leadership or mentorship capacity.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments; strong familiarity with backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to business and technical audiences.
- Strong experience with requirements documentation, process modeling, and functional specification design.
- Experience collaborating with Development, QA, and Product teams on large-scale system implementations or enhancements.
- Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Comfortable managing hybrid or remote teams across time zones.
- Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance domain is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of business rules configuration, workflow automation, and data mapping is a plus.
- CBAP, PMI-PBA, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
