What we do:

The Trade Desk is helping change the way we buy, sell and consume advertising as one of the leaders in the programmatic industry. Since the programmatic industry is young, you will directly contribute to a new experience that translates the massive power of our technology into simple and elegant workflows for ad agency partners and advertisers. Our industry is complicated, but we don't believe our platform should be.

You'll be joining a small but growing team of experienced designers who are paving the way to create a more user-centered platform. Our team thrives on collaborating across teams, and digging in to fully understand the context of any problem. We value ideas and feedback from everyone, and we're incredibly fortunate to sit next to people who use the platform on a daily basis.

The Enterprise Engineering Team at The Trade Desk are seeking a visionary Senior Staff Enterprise Engineer - Salesforce Architecture to lead the design and implementation of our next-generation Go-To-Market (GTM) architecture. You will drive innovation across sales, marketing, support, and partner functions by leveraging Salesforce and adjacent technologies. This strategic role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, architectural vision, and strong executive communication skills to align business outcomes with scalable systems design.

At The Trade Desk, we believe each opportunity to engage with consumers is unique. Because of this, our platform provides advertisers and their agencies with an unprecedented level of power to describe and reach their target audience. This means user experience can make or break our business - our users must have all the flexibility to harness our system's growing power and should be able to use our platform with unparalleled ease.

What you'll do:

  • Define and evolve a cohesive enterprise architecture that streamlines the entire GTM journey-from lead acquisition to post-sale engagement-through integrated systems and data flows.
  • Own and evolve the Salesforce platform architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrations with third-party and internal systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by clearly articulating the trade-offs, risks, and long-term impacts of architectural choices on business goals.
  • Set and promote architectural guardrails, data models, governance frameworks, and reusable patterns to support scalability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales Operations, Marketing Operations, Customer Success, and Security to ensure architectural alignment with business and technical strategy.
  • Identify and champion emerging technologies, including AI/ML and automation, to drive rep productivity and personalized customer engagement.
  • Architect scalable integrations across Salesforce, internal data platforms, CDPs, BI tools, and workflow automation platforms to support a 360 customer view.
  • Design solutions that adhere to data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Who you are:

  • BS degree in related field or equivalent years of experience required. MS degree preferred. Salesforce certifications a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise systems design, with 8+ years in Salesforce architecture and solution design.
  • Proven success in influencing executive stakeholders by translating complex technical options into clear business outcomes.
  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional architecture reviews and aligning technology strategy with business goals.
  • Expert-level understanding of Salesforce architecture, development (APEX, Lightning, Flow), and integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, Kafka, Boomi).
  • Experience with system design methodologies including event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and microservices.
  • Deep understanding of GTM processes-lead funnel, sales ops, quoting, customer onboarding, and lifecycle automation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage senior leaders and drive buy-in on technology direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience presenting to or advising C-level executives on architecture roadmaps
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies in the context of sales or customer support automation
  • Background in SaaS, tech, or fast-scaling enterprise environments
