Sr. IT Network Engineer

Supermicro IT team is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to lead the global network engineering team projects in domains such as LAN, WAN, SDWAN, Wireless, Firewalls, MPLS, BGP, Cloud interconnectivity, Vendor management, Network planning, design, implementation, and management of extensive infrastructure across multiple geographical locations. Strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to navigate the intersection of networking and security are crucial for success in this role.

Global Network Planning and Design:

• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of on-premises and cloud-based network infrastructure on a global scale.
• Develop and implement comprehensive global network strategies and solutions that align with business objectives.
• Design and optimize routing protocols, including BGP, SD-WAN and MPLS, for efficient data flow within the organization's worldwide network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud-based services into the global network architecture.
• Design and implement robust routing solutions to ensure optimal data transmission and network efficiency globally.
• Optimize WAN performance, addressing latency and bandwidth challenges, and implementing redundancy for high availability.
• Firewall networking, intercampus routing, SDN - Software defined networking, DR site routing, network monitoring experience is a must.

Wireless Networking:

• Oversee the design and implementation of wireless networking solutions to provide seamless and secure connectivity for users across global locations.

Global Cloud Integration:

• Integrate, optimize network connectivity for cloud services to enhance performance and reduce latency on a global scale.

IT Security:

• Network security design, operation, monitoring, and prevention.
• Security rules implementation and execution.

Vendor Management:

• Collaborate with network equipment and service vendors to ensure the procurement of reliable and cost-effective solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to meet organizational needs.

Project Management:

• Oversee and collaborate with the IT leadership team to align global network projects with broader organizational goals.

• Education: Bachelor's/Master's or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
• 8+ years of Network engineering & operations experience.
• Expertise in network protocol, routing, and network security.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshoot tools.
• Aruba Wireless networking experience is a plus
• Leadership Skills: Strong management & leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges.
• Certifications: Plus, to have virtualization, networking, cloud, and security certs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid hands-on experience and skills.

$140,000 - $160,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
