Pay:

Visterra offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Role Overview:

The Construction Manager must complete construction assignments by planning, organizing, and conducting quality checks and supervising personnel. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead construction crews, including foremen and laborers, ensuring daily assignments, routing, and performance align with project goals.
  • Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and crew deployment using tools like Resource Guru to ensure timely job completion.
  • Maintain accountability for project budgets, material procurement, and cost control to support overall profitability.
  • Review and approve crew hours for payroll processing and monitor truck/shop maintenance and cleanliness standards.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, managing expectations, and handling warranty-related discussions.
  • Conduct job site inspections, ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Handle project billing and collections, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely payments.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members, maintaining a skilled and reliable workforce.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through proposal development, customer upselling, and meeting sales targets.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, providing project updates and participating in weekly production meetings.

Requirements:

  • Education and/or Experience - High school diploma/GED; Bachelors degree preferred, 2+ years commercial landscaping and/or construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common landscaping material/journals and financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and customers. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisors, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Computer Skills - Proficiency in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. This role requires an above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Aspire is preferred.
  • Other Qualifications - Valid driver's license is required; Must be able to travel 50-70% of the time.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is constantly moving about at the jobsite location, managing crews and job assignments. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other employees and customers throughout the service process. Occasionally, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 25 percent of the time, while operating their computer and performing office work. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. In the office, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate.
