Job Title: Maintenance Helper

Location: New Market

Shift: 1st shift Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 3:15pm


Job Summary:

This position works under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineer, or in his/her absence, the designee. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily, and results are reviewed daily or as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Basic maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks on; plant equipment, machines, and buildings including:



  • Cleaning, painting, lubrication, fluid and filter changes.
  • Empty chip hoppers and grinding swarf
  • Basic plumbing, basic carpentry, basic metal fabrication.
  • Repair shop floors and stairs, installs racking units and guards.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, assists in equipment relocation and installation.
  • Changes light bulbs
  • Cleaning sumps, catch basins, roof drains, sewer and drain lines.
  • Janitorial support
  • Winter maintenance including snow removal and apply anti-skid material.
  • Orders parts, materials, and chemicals as needed



Experience:




  • High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma
  • A demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • The ability to handle hazardous chemicals / waste safely and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • The ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • A valid forklift operator license
  • Experience in DOT training and Hazardous Material Spill Training is preferred.
  • Incumbents are required to successfully complete RCRA training within the first six months in the position.
