HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM: The Sr. Director of Transportation will lead Ascentek's operational transportation strategies in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Louisiana. This role will align capacity, capabilities, and costs with growth plans, optimizing logistics and distribution across facilities. Responsibilities include maximizing capital asset use, reinforcing safety and quality, and managing operational costs. Key Responsibilities:
- Influences and drives culture of safe work practices, continuous improvement, environmental compliance, and the Ascentek Mission of making tomorrow a little bit better than today for our employees, customers, & communities.
- A key member of the Ascentek Integrated Supply Chain Leadership team providing business and operational leadership of the daily transportation operations, including routing, scheduling, and dispatch, to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.
- Provides strategic oversight into delivery and transportation operations. Ensures these capabilities are competitive, differentiated, and keep pace with emerging opportunities.
- Develops and directs operational policies and procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in all transportation activities.
- Builds an operational roadmap that addresses capacity, capabilities, cost, and service levels. Implements metric driven management control and reporting to ensure operational targets are met and continuous improvement occurs.
- Develops and directs operational expectations, sets roles and responsibilities, and provides toolsets for problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Identifies and prioritizes capital and operating expenditures. Deploys plans to maximize the effectiveness and profitability of capital investments.
- Oversee the lifecycle of all transportation assets, ensuring proper maintenance, timely replacement, and adherence to safety and performance standards
- Drives technology integration within the delivery & transportation network.
- Monitor division performance as it relates to key goals, measurements, and financial performance, assuring management accountability for plan execution and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Ensures operational compliance with all areas of safety, environmental, and regulatory influence. Provides oversight on DOT compliance and fleet management.
- Partners with Safety, Security and Environmental team to drive safety fleet camera program.
- Operates in line with Ascentek values and purpose, demonstrates strong leadership, and builds solid relationships with stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field required
- Master's degree preferred
Experience and/or Training:
- 10 years of progressive experience leading distribution supply chain and/or logistics organizations; Lubricant industry experience preferred
- Strong leader with extensive knowledge of supply chain management and logistic processes.
- Demonstrated success in developing departmental budgets including expense/cost management and capital planning.
- Demonstrated success participating in Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
- Requires the ability to develop and execute strategy and to develop/monitor budgets and expenses. Solid understanding of business disciplines and financial information, particularly as it pertains to cash flow, margins and profitability
- Ability to identify and achieve "win/win" agreements. Utilizes a variety of techniques and approaches to influence others
- Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making considering relative costs & benefits of potential actions; critical thinking logic & reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to be a thought leader and inspire employee engagement.
Licenses/Certificates:
- CPM, CPIM and/or APICS certification preferred
Travel Expectations:
- This position requires up to 50% regional travel; more travel may be required upon business demand.

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $143,333 and $182,678 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:

- Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
