- The R&D Engineer II will contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
- Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
- Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
- Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
- Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
- Works under the general supervision of a development manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
- Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
- Experience with object-oriented programming in Python and C++;
- Experience with procedural programming in C;
- Experience with Python scientific packages: Numpy and Pandas;
- Experience with computing tool MATLAB;
- Knowledge of unit testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT);
- Knowledge of numerical analysis techniques;
- Experience using computer-aided software for mechanical and fluid simulation.
- Additional work location information: May permit telecommuting from home office within commuting distance to Atlanta, GA. Work in office at least 1 day per week.
