Supplier Quality Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Quality Engineer monitors, inspects, and evaluates products to ensure predetermined quality standards are met. The Quality Engineer develops and updates testing-related documentation, including test cases, plans, and flaw-reporting procedures. The Quality Engineer provides quality assurance support to the product development team, resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Reviews design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products.
  • Ensures products meet the organization and customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
  • Supports product development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • Perform other assignments as instructed by their manager.

  • Participates in a cross-functional team to develop new products, sustain current products, detect problems, implement solutions, assist operations and provide aftermarket support.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum Years of Experience Necessary: 0 to 2 years
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor M3 preferred) and PLM systems.
  • Experience with Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications, and Familiarity with machining, casting, molding, welding, or electronics depending on the industry.



REQUIRED PHYSICAL EFFORT



  • Some travel to mines, supplier locations, etc. which may include overseas travel. On occasion, will need to work with production personnel during assembly and testing of the rigs.
