Assistant Health Center Manager - Omaha, NE

Pay: The anticipated salary range for this position is $25-$32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant work experience, the skills required for the role, internal equity, market competitiveness, and budget considerations. We are committed to ensuring fair and competitive pay for all employees.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift times: Expected work hours between 7:30am-8pm Monday-Friday & occasional Saturdays between 10am-3pm. Planned expansion (TBD date) to 9am-5pm Saturdays.

Job Summary:

The Health Center Assistant Manager provides leadership in the health center in collaboration with the Health Center Manager. Primary responsibilities include supporting a culture where the norm is high-functioning team(s) who provide evidence-based quality care resulting in exceptional customer service. Other responsibilities include identifying opportunities for health center growth, assisting with the health center business and administrative functions, serving as a leader both in the health center and the affiliate, facilitating processes to create effective clinical systems, and ensuring the health center is in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Health Center Assistant Managers are advocates in implementing our mission "Advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all." They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Post-secondary education in business, human services, public health, nursing related area, or 2 years equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with confidential information
  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed within Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours that match the clinic hours, which may include evenings and weekends


Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:



  • Supports health center staff in development of a culture that fosters positive attitudes and trust among staff to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Assists Health Center Manger in creating and maintaining a team-based plan to meet PPNCS goals and objectives.
  • Supports team through changes in the business. Serves as a role model to staff and peers in business ethics, integrity, customer service, and service recovery.
  • Assists the Health Center Manager with managing the health center to meet or exceed goals in productivity, revenue, patient and employee satisfaction, patient visit targets, and quality measures.
  • Monitors daily systems and procedures and ensures that barriers to quality employee performance and customer service are dealt with promptly and effectively.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with our Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, and Medical Standards and Guidelines, as well as HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, and any other regulatory agencies.
  • Reinforces a patient-centered service model by mentoring staff and setting an example by creating an environment that stresses responsive service delivery. Anticipates patient needs and assures all staff maintain customer service standards. Responds to patients in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Participates in hiring, training, and managing of health center staff. Assists with ongoing training, staff development, and staff meetings, to ensure all staff are aware of all new and revised PPNCS policies and procedures.
  • Regularly assists with conducting analyses of the health center and creates measurable goals and objectives to ensure successful center operations and financial stability. Utilizing process improvement tools, assists with implementing activities to achieve health center goals and objectives and evaluates results.
  • Assures appropriate ordering and accuracy of inventory for office supplies, medical supplies, contraceptives, medications, furniture, and equipment for health center.
  • Ensures compliance with medical record SOP.
  • Assists staff and Health Center Manager with maintaining clinic flow, performing various staff functions as needed where licensure is not required (e.g., working at the front desk, rounding on patients, stocking, and cleaning rooms etc.)
  • Assures health center provides patient centered care and meets productivity goals.
  • Works to advance all of the medical services provided at our health centers including family planning, reproductive health services, abortion services, contraceptive services, vasectomies, mental health, and transgender care.
  • Partners with staff and collaborates with other departments to assure health center is meeting organizational goals.
  • Assumes all accountability and responsibility for health center operations in Health Center Manager's absence.


Immunization Requirements:



  • Hepatitis B vaccination records
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccination records or proof of immunization
  • Tuberculosis PPD Skin Test that is no older than 12 months
