GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicines Quality Systems Division laboratory leadership, this position involves traveling between 1 to 3 sites daily, using the employee's own vehicle. Mileage compensation is provided for travel between sites, excluding the first and last trip of the day, in accordance with the Tier 1 policy. The primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and implementing a system-wide approach to maintain consistency, efficiency, and quality across all sites. Additionally, the role may lead the preparation and delivery of training efforts to improve quality for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PALM) and the activities related to point-of-care (POC) activities outside of the usual laboratory. The position prepares and maintains POC operating procedures to meet accrediting and regulatory requirements in PALM-approved standardized format, collects quality data to plan and lead educational efforts to facilitate awareness and implement improvements, and may assist caregivers and other healthcare workers in the development of staff training to ensure accrediting and regulatory compliance for POC laboratories.
