SUMMARY

Provides technical expertise to determine and implement the most effective use of resources (equipment, facilities, materials, people and other assets) to meet customer requirements while continuously driving the elimination of WASTE. Enhances factory productivity, reduces cost and improves product quality through the analysis and continued improvement of manufacturing methods, processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, and plant layout.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provides technical support to manufacturing personnel to improve work flow and troubleshoots problem areas.
  • Develops a working knowledge of SAP functionality - BOM, Routing, Inventory, Capacity, Costing functions.
  • Works with Production Management to develop and maintain department and work center organization and structure.
  • Conducts time studies to develop appropriate labor standards for new and existing products and processes.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises shop routings for new or redesigned products.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises standard work documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Oversees reporting and accuracy of labor and productivity metrics.
  • Develops and tracks capacity projections for critical machines, work centers and departments.
  • Conducts and prepares labor and material cost estimates as required.
  • Participates in new product design and DFM efforts to assure cost-effective, producible designs.
  • Identifies, justifies and procures new or upgrades existing equipment and tooling to optimize capacity, productivity and cost.
  • Conducts make-vs-buy analysis on new and existing components.
  • Maintains knowledge of technical advancements with the potential of improving productivity.
  • Identifies and rectifies processes that are not in compliance with company safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Identifies, participates and leads projects, training, workshops, kaizen events to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
  • Utilizes and trains personnel in the use of Lean tools/methods; 6S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Set Up Reduction, etc.
  • Familiar with CAPA 8D process.
  • Completes Action Items determined from root cause analysis
  • Recommends procedures that will result in cost savings, mistake proofing, scrap reduction and maximization of production efficiencies, using kaizen and other state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Leads and participates in cross functional improvement teams at all organizational levels
  • Uses data and statistical analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, prioritizes projects, and justifies proposed actions.
  • Develops and delivers training material as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Manger of Manufacturing Engineering and/or Production Managers.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and sustaining manufacturing processes and in applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
  • Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical, technical, and excellent problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with troubleshooting skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Excellent teamwork and teambuilding skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology to a green or black belt level

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities such as data entry or typing.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
