Job Description:

The Associate Inflight Safety Assurance Consultant is responsible for collecting and analyzing all Inflight Operations Safety & Regulatory Compliance data. This data is used for decision support models, business rule changes, and ongoing Inflight operations initiatives. Additionally, this role builds targeted monitoring plans and assists Consultants in uploading assurance plan data. The Associate Inflight Safety Assurance Consultant is a strategic problem-solver with strong communication skills who looks forward to supporting impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest.

Responsibilities
  • Determines and monitors performance exceedance triggers, and reports results through relevant Safety data
  • Responds to ad hoc data requests, builds out targeted monitoring plans, and assists Consultant in uploading assurance plan data
  • Compiles data from all stakeholders and builds Inflight Data Scrub and Inflight Safety Review Board presentations monthly
  • Process reports daily in applicable internal databases
  • Provide recommendations and answer business questions using experience, logical reasoning, and analytical skills
  • Must be Customer Service oriented and maintain a positive attitude
  • Handle concurrent projects and prioritize accordingly
  • Possess solid knowledge of the Inflight operation
  • Create impactful accompanying visuals, charts, and graphs that drive insights and best illustrate analytical findings
  • Lead the execution of analyses related to own area
  • Assist the Leader in identifying areas of operational improvement through research and analysis
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Skilled in analytic capabilities with the ability to break down and analyze various types of data (e.g. Employee reporting, injury & damage data, etc.)
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
  • Skilled in analytics and data validation
  • Skilled in researching, problem solving, and investigation
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to have outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed and/or technical documents
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
    • Data analytics
Licensing/Certification
  • Must meet all regulatory criteria to obtain and maintain a CREW badge designation; this position requires successful and continuous enrollment in Rap Back
Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Air travel with frequent overnight stays required
Pay & Benefits:
  • Competitive market salary from $78,850 per year to $87,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
