SPECIALIST II - LEAN MANUFACTURING (READING, PA) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SPECIALIST II - LEAN MANUFACTURING
- Implement improvements to the production process flow.
- Recommend hands-on process improvements using a combination of Lean Manufacturing tools with a focus towards optimizing labor resources and systems, flow creation, 5S and waste reduction.
- Improve existing operations for increased safety, quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
- Support value stream mapping and kaizen events.
- Lead Problem Solving to root cause and recommend or implement corrective actions.
- Provides manufacturing or other data to assist in the creation of control charts, identify process capabilities, areas to focus or to create KPI's or targets to measure progress.
- Assist in identifying ways to reduce production inefficiencies through recommendations - new processes, elimination of waste, machinery enhancements, process improvements.
- Aid with development and documentation of KPI's and systems designed to sustain and drive continuous improvement using Carpenters Operating Model.
- Ability to travel 25% to other locations within a specified region.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE SPECIALIST II - LEAN MANUFACTURING
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field preferred, plus 3+ years of successful lean implementation experience with proven record of sustainable results OR High School Diploma required, plus 5+ years of relevant lean implementation experience required.
- Successful candidates will have prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing operations.
- Extensive experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Extensive job-related experience with LEAN manufacturing tools and methods.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste using applicable tools and analysis.
- Proven coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with a track record of successful change management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be proactive, creative, and a hands-on change agent.
- Should have team building and rapid execution abilities.
- Self-motivated and ability to "think on your feet" when working and a "can do" approach to work.
- Self-Starter who can creatively drive continuous improvement on their own initiative with guidance as necessary.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, computer and basic business skills. Able to bring clarity and optimal solutions from abstract information.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding and ever-changing environment with frequently changing priorities.
