Description
Join Our Team! RHD Boston is a non profit organization for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or autism. Our day program, Outside the Lines, has a mission to provide individuals with developmental disabilities with the tools and materials to create art and the supports to define themselves as artists. We are seeking part time support with an exciting new hourly rate, $18.50! Plus a $500 signing bonus paid in two equal installments 3 and 6 months after joining our team. We are looking for individuals interested in working part-time at our arts based community day program as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). We provide caring, effective and innovative services that empower people of all abilities as they build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. RHD's multi-faceted programs serve people with a variety of challenges that include intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness. We have permanent part time shifts available Monday and Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. The Direct Support Professional works with artists with a range of disabilities, in particular people whose challenging behaviors or health issues make them poor fits with more traditional day services. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for: ADMINISTRATIVE: * Attends and participates in meetings and training related to the services provided in the program (including but not limited to team meetings, ISP meetings, administrative meetings). * Ensures program documentation (data sheets, shift notes, etc.) are completed in a timely and accurate manner. - Communicates medical information and follow up -Uses cell phone (company or personal with stipend) to respond to calls (staff, supervisors, doctors, families, DDS, etc.) - Ensures staff receive regular trainings in fire safety and human rights. - Reads and answers email in a timely manner INDIVIDUAL SERVICES: Provide direct support to individuals in the program (including personal care and behavioral support)

We are Hiring Dynamic Team Members Who -Are dedicated to enriching and improving the lives of others -Experience with art or arts programs preferred -A valid driver's license is preferred. -Have basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. -Possess a high school diploma or GED; associates or bachelor's degree is preferred -Prior experience in Human Services field is preferred but not required. -Must have current First Aid Certification. - Must have CPR certification within one month of hire.
