Job description

Seeking a skilled Business Analyst with deep knowledge of energy markets and hands-on experience with ETRM systems. This role will play a pivotal part in improving system performance, supporting trade operations, and aligning technology with business goals across the front and middle office.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Partner closely with traders, risk teams, and IT to gather requirements and translate them into technical and functional solutions.
  • Design and implement ETRM enhancements tailored to power trading workflows.
  • Analyze trading and market data to uncover insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure data consistency and accuracy across systems involved in trade lifecycle management.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specs, and training guides.
  • Serve as a key resource for ETRM system users, providing support, training, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Participate in testing cycles for new features, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • Stay ahead of industry changes including market dynamics, compliance updates, and technology innovations relevant to energy trading.


What You'll Need to Succeed:



  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in energy trading, with a focus on power markets.
  • Solid knowledge of ETRM platforms and how they support trading, scheduling, and risk.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools to extract, interpret, and present complex data.
  • Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface across business and technical teams.
  • Comfort working under pressure in a high-stakes trading environment.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards in the energy space (bonus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in management consulting is an advantage.
