Firmware Validation Engineer

 Firmware Validation Engineer w/Zoox Inc. (Foster City, CA)  Develop comprehensive test plans based on requirements, trace test cases to requirements, set pass/fail criteria and refine requirements based on test outcomes. Develop and execute system and sub-system level test plans on multiple test layers (HiL, Dyno, Vehicle). Define tooling needs to execute tests and evaluate results efficiently; collaborate with system, firmware, and hardware engineers to ensure implementations meet requirements and desired functionality in accordance with product requirements. Analyze test plans for coverage gaps and develop mitigation plans for the gaps. Investigate firmware issues through data analysis and issue reproduction. Work on physical components such as PCB, motors and relays. Utilize Python, Vector CAN tools, Oscilloscope, and Polarion.  Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Mechatronics or related Engineering field. Requires 3 years of experience in a Systems Control Engineer, Systems Validation Engineer or related engineering position working with autonomous vehicles or robots. Experience must include the following: testing, validating, troubleshooting and deploying relevant builds; developing test simulations and unit/integration test code for failure mode and effect analysis; developing test procedures, executing tests, and maintaining test plans and documentation; utilizing Matlab; Python, C++ and Polarion. Telework permitted within commuting distance to worksite. $169,000 – $212,000 per year
