Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform

 Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform w/Zoox Inc. (Foster City, CA)  Build out the software infrastructure, services, and tools that manage the Pipeline of vehicle data and telemetry. End-to-end responsibilities for capturing, validating, storing, querying, and serving robot data. Develop highly scalable data processing pipelines to ingest and index various types of vehicle and simulation data. Work with teams across Zoox including machine learning, data science, firmware, QA, infrastructure, IT, and release management teams to understand the nature of data flowing through our system and the processing, storage, and access requirements for that data. Design, develop, and own services and web apps to provide efficient access to different kinds of vehicle data, including sensor data, encoded hardware signals, message logs, and more. Design and develop the data processing platform to empower the data analytics. Work with engineers in different levels and across functional teams to explore new technologies and tackle challenges to scale the data platform to support 10s of petabytes of data and 100s of millions of data access requests each day. Utilize Java, Python, C/C++, MySQL and NoSQL.

 Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field and 5 years of experience in a Software Engineer position working on data platforms and data processing or a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field and 3 years of experience in a Software Engineer position working on data platforms and data processing. Experience must include: working on data platform development, distributed systems and computing; designing and developing machine learning models; designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment; creating end-to-end testing frameworks to provide APIs to simulate synthetic events; utilizing Java, Python, C/C++, MySQL and NoSQL. Telework permitted within commuting distance to worksite. $207,000-$256,300 per year
