About the Role:

We're looking for energetic, caring individuals who enjoy connecting with children and who have a passion for education. As a Room Lead, you'll be the heart of the afterschool program-greeting students with a smile, building strong relationships, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment where learning and fun go hand-in-hand.

Position Summary:

The LINK Club Room Leads are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of after school classrooms, supporting students with snacks and activities, and maintaining a positive, safe, and engaging environment. This position requires reliable personal transportation to reach designated sites. Room Leads will report to the LINK Club Site Coordinator.

Work Schedule:



  • Summer Hours: Monday-Friday, 12:30 - 5:00 pm
  • School Year Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:30 - 6:00 pm


Job Type: Grant Supported Position

Location: Brent Place Apartments

Salary: Part-time hourly rate, $30 per hour

Key Responsibilities:



  • Welcome students daily and take attendance
  • Provide snacks and dinner meals to students; assist with clean-up
  • Lead community circles and implement instructional activities/projects
  • Maintain classroom order and manage student behavior effectively
  • Report observations and incidents (e.g., accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, safety concerns) to the LINK Club Coordinator
  • Provide feedback to teachers and/or parents on student progress
  • Treat each child with dignity and respect; meet the needs of individual students with sensitivity to their backgrounds and learning styles
  • Perform essential record-keeping and clerical tasks (e.g., scheduling, copying)
  • Attend all required meetings and professional development sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the 21st CCLC grant requirements



Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred




  • Preferred Experience/Skills: Experience working with diverse, immigrant, English Learner (EL), and/or economically disadvantaged students. Experience in an afterschool or other educational environment


  • Additional Requirements:


-Must have reliable personal transportation to reach program site

-Must be punctual and consistently available during designated program hours

Clearances:



  • Criminal Fingerprint/Background Clearance and Tuberculosis Skin Test
