Responsibilities

SCREENING FOR THIS POSITION WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE JOB HAS BEEN FILLED.

Minimum: $20.00/hour Maximum: $25.00/hour

Position Summary:

The Patient Advocate investigates, resolves, documents and reports organization-specific patient and visitor complaints and concerns to leadership and staff. The Patient Advocate collaborates with departmental leaders in to ensure resolution of concerns presented by patients, families, visitors or other representatives of the patient. The Patient Advocate actively participates in the development and implementation of customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility's mission and goals.

The Receptionist answers all incoming phone call to CSH and provides clerical support to other Departments of the hospital. Communicate all messages accordingly. Communicate with Assessment and Referral Department for walk-in and scheduled patient arrivals including initial paperwork and assessment packets. Monitor lobby area and surronding camera dispays for patient activity. Receive incoming mail/deliveries. Receive and dispatch patient belongings brought from outside facility. Call CODES over overhead paging system and radio. Schedule mandatory training on Master log. Follow HIPAA guidelines outlined in Reception Guide. Assist with data entry. All other duties as assigned.

Exemptions

  1. Workers may be exempt from the vaccination requirements by providing a signed exemption form indicating one of the following:
  1. Religious Beliefs
  2. Qualifying Medical Reason
  1. To be eligible for an exemption based on Religious Beliefs, the worker must provide a written statement describing the worker's sincerely held religious beliefs and how those beliefs conflict with Colorado's August 21, 2021 Public Health Order requiring certain healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The company may request supporting documentation to further evaluate the request for religious accommodation.
  1. To be eligible for a Qualified Medical Reason exemption, the worker must provide a written statement signed by a physician, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse, or certified nurse midwife licensed in the State of Colorado stating that the COVID-19 vaccination for the employee, direct contractor, or support staff is medically contraindicated as described in the product labeling or authorized by the FDA. This statement should not describe the underlying medical condition or disability but should indicate the probable duration of the inability to receive the vaccine.
  1. A record of signed exemption forms and statements submitted in support of the exemption request must be maintained in a confidential HR Medical file, separate from the Personnel File.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Position requires walking, standing, sitting for prolonged periods of time.
* Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
* Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
* Regularly needs to bend, stoop and reach.
* Must be able to type, speak, read and write clearly and in English.
* Ability to distinguish telephone rings and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone.
* Must be able to lift over fifty (50) pounds.
* Flexibility in work hours.
* Ability to maintain patient / staff confidentiality.
* Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritize these tasks.
* Valid Colorado driving license with good driving record


OTHER:
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

SKILLS:
Working knowledge of medical terminology. Strong organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task. Typing 50 wpm with knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling. Knowledge of general office equipment. Requires organizational, verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. Working knowledge of software programs such as Windows, Word, Excel, etc. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends as necessary for reception coverage.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
1-3 years of relevant experience in a health care environment; experience in a Psychiatric setting preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Must meet or exceed hospital and regulatory agency training requirements.

Required tasks of the job routinely involve a potential for exposure.
