Hybrid Work Arrangement: A "Hybrid" position means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both in the office and from their home. Work arrangements could change over time based on business need. Hybrid work arrangement for Enterprise Technology is defined as residing within a 180-mile radius of the Hubs and Corporate.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Analyst - Digital Analytics in Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Execution (AISE) providing Claims focused Product and Business Analytics.

In this role, you will be able to use your technical and analytical skills as well as Claims knowledge to influence decision making based on data and metrics for the products developed and used by customers, agents, employees and vendors. Your work will help improve user experiences and help ET and Claims Operations achieve valuable outcomes. You will partner closely with product teams in ET and with Claims partners to understand their work and the outcomes they want to achieve.

The selected candidates will use data from a variety of quantitative and qualitative resources to assess progress and provide valuable insights into the factors affecting results. The selected candidates are expected to work with a variety of roles at all levels of the organization, so they should have very strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation). The candidates will often need to work with significant autonomy, so should possess strong and professional initiative, be decisive, and apply good judgment.

The ideal candidates will also possess strong curiosity and a passion for understanding products, processes and problems thoroughly, constantly asking "Why?" and wanting to know more to develop a greater understanding of the topics being explored. These jobs include some reporting responsibilities but primarily it is a business intelligence job. You will be developing and cultivating that intelligence and then share it to inform decision making.



Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience querying data using a variety of BI tools (dBeaver, Spark, Python, etc.)
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and growth mindset
  • Customers experience focused mindset
  • Experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, generate Insights/recommendations, and measure success
  • Ability to learn and apply new technical skills quickly
  • Possess intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership courage appropriately and effectively

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of State Farm Claims tools, data, and processes
  • Understanding of claims data tables and data elements
  • Understanding of Enterprise Interactions tables and data elements
  • Experience using QuickSight, Athena, Redshift, Python, Glue Jobs and Terraform for data analysis in AWS Cloud Experience applying statistical methods to analyses

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

  • Potential starting salary range: $78,000 - $140,000 (Starting salary will be based on skills, background, location, and experience. High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience living in specific locations.)
